The popular blockchain open source website browser, Brave Browser, recently announced a new partnership with the TAP Network- a blockchain-based advertising and data platform at the annual Mobile World Congress.

The announcement carries a significant milestone, as it is another display of increasing examples of crypto adoption in the mainstream. Brave Browser currently enjoys four million active users.

Brace is a privacy orientated browser that aims to change the existing architecture in which browsers and users interact with ads- and employ the Basic Attention Token to do so.

The CEO of Brave Software, Brendan Eich said of the TAP Network partnership:

“We’re excited to welcome TAP Network as a partner for our ad platform that’s built completely on privacy, and together, reward users for their attention while opening doors for brands that are looking to connect ethically with new audiences.”

While Lin Dhai, the co-founder and CEO of Tap Network further stated:

“We are excited to partner with Brave to further the mission of protecting consumer privacy and rewarding users for participating in the advertising ecosystem.”

The partnership’s real significance is that it now allows for the Basic Attention Token (BAT) to be redeemed across 250K+ brand partners within the AP Network’s ecosystem. Users who own the BAT can redeem it for rewards, which at a later date can be exchanged for goods and services.

Some of the biggest names within the TAP Network are Amazon, Apple, Starbucks, and Uber. Brave users can redeem their BAT tokens across any of these platforms for items such as gift cars. As well as this, their BAT’s are redeemable across various restaurants worldwide for vouchers and exclusive offers via the TAP Network.

In anticipation of this announcement, the price of BAT has increased by 53%. It started at $0.13179 and is now sitting at $0.166144.
