Popular South Korean cryptocurrency project Enjin, along with the Blockchain Game Alliance will be hosting the official GDC Blockchain Day today, along with a happy hour.

The event is described as being a networking event:

“…with leading blockchain ecosystem developer Enjin, members of the Blockchain Game Alliance, game developers, and champions of blockchain technology. In addition to being a celebration, this event will be a blockchain game development learning experience, providing a venue for you to learn, connect, network, and share your ideas and expertise regarding blockchain and gaming.”

It’s an exciting time in the blockchain space, so let’s get together to celebrate, collaborate, and push forward adoption of our favorite tech!”

Gaming has long been seen as a potential industry which would hugely benefit from the adoption of blockchain technology.

Due to the decentralized and transparent nature in blockchain’s architecture, the ability to play games without the worry of a central host reduces significantly, as well as the chances of gamers defrauding or cheating each other- the distributed ledge makes sure all actions are recorded.

Enjin themselves wrote an article about how blockchain can impact the gaming industry.

What is Enjin? Founded in 2009, Enjin has provided community management services platform for gamers. Enjin platform allows users to create websites, forums, stores, and various other features.

It has 18+ million registered users, with over 60 million views per month globally.

Enjin wants to make great progress in the Virtual Good Creation and Management process, via their new Enjin Coin. The coin is a smart token that will have full integration with the Enjin platform for numerous community purposes.

Most recently it was announced that Enjin was chosen to be the cryptocurrency wallet provider for the Samsung Galaxy S10 mobile phones- sending the Enjin coin price up by over 200%.

The Game Developers Conference is the world’s largest professional game industry event and brings together 28,000 attendees to exchange ideas and shape the future of the gaming industry.

The five-day event lasts from March 18th-22nd, 2019.
