A new set of survey results released by blockchain-based company Insights Network has shown that Superman remains the original and favorite superhero for those surveyed.

The survey was carried out by Insights Network- following on from their recent Coinbase Neutrino survey- in which they gauged the public opinion of Coinbase’s controversial acquisition.

This most recent survey, however, was a lot more light-hearted and focused one of pop culture’s most endearing and all-consuming topic – superheroes.

The survey contained ten questions, focusing on a wide variety of topics related to the genre; these included who the user’s favorite superhero is? Whether they preferred Marvel or DC films? To even if they thought the legendary hero himself, Captain America will face his death in the final Avengers film.

The survey was a comprehensive exercise for any superhero fan and resulted in the most significant response for an Insights Network survey yet- with over 19,500 unique responses.

Some of the key metrics included:

• Total number of participants: 1,953

• Total number of questions asked: 10

• Total number of unique answers: 19,530

• Total number of countries participated: 62

The key take-aways from the survey results included:

• Almost half of those surveyed were a fan of superheroes, 27%, with only 16.20%, choosing an unfavorable opinion.

• Unsurprisingly, Superman was the favorite superhero, 84% selecting Clark Kent as their choice. Batman came second with 12.03% of the survey with 4.15% choosing they don’t like superheroes.

• Over half, 32% said they had read comic books at one point, with 12.39% stating they’ve never read any comic books.

• If given a choice, the majority of participants, 41%, would have to bring peace to the world, as their chosen superpower. Reversing time was second with 23.91%, and 12.29% chose none of the above.

• The Avengers was most participants favorite Marvel film, 93% choosing the blockbuster.

• While Batman vs. Superman was the top pick for DC produced movies, taking 20% of the survey.

So whether or not you agree with Superman being the winner- maybe you would’ve preferred Batman or Wolverine, or if you prefer DC films to Marvel films, the survey certainly proves that superhero fever is alive and well and shows no signs of any decline.
