Effect.AI (EFX), one of NEO’s most popular d’Apps on the platform has announced the project will be migrating to EOS imminently.

Seven months is, Effect.AI they feel that NEO has technological drawbacks which are a hindrance to the Effect.AI’s ability to expand their operations.

Seven months in, Effect.AI, a network aimed at developing and trading of algorithms used in artificial intelligence says:

“Disappointment in the performance of the NEO technology and concerns about the lack of direction of NEO’s future,” was the primary reason for the choice to switch to EOS.

Jesse Eisses, CTO of Effect.AI explained:

“Although a good blockchain for the initial launch, NEO had failed to deliver when put to the test. The current implementation of the blockchain can’t get to the promised transaction throughput, and the smart contract compilers besides C# are still immature.”

At the time of their ICO, Effect.AI had chosen NEO due to the feeless transactions, numerous programming languages for smart contracts and also most importantly, the ability to quickly expand as a result of scalability.

However, unfortunately, problems arose, as the feeless transactions were unsustainable to poor security and the network’s TPS rate stagnated at 15-20, now fast enough for Effect.AI’s requirements. This was a particular problem that was exasperated when during the launch of Effect Force when the NEO platform struggled to operate 200K EFX transactions.

Effect.AI became acquainted with EOS during a London hackathon in September last year. The project considered other platforms including Ethereum (ETH), Tron (TRX) and Tezos (XTZ), but the project’s co-founder Laurens Verspeek proclaimed, EOS “stood out above the rest.”

EOS was able to offer advanced software and increased security, as well as easy UI and a highly engaged community. Also, they had a TPS rate 300x greater than NEO’s offering- this would be vital to allow Effect.AI to process upwards of a million transactions every day.

The news will, of course, come as a significant disappointment to NEO; Effect.AI is considered one of the most promising d’Apps in the NEO ecosystem. The sector is currently oversaturated with platforms, but over time it seems that d’Apps will be attracted towards the platform which offers the most complete solution.
